Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Chennai – Gateway to the South

Upon arrival at Chennai International Airport, you'll be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and a brief rest, begin your journey with a visit to the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, an architectural gem dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Mylapore. Its towering gopuram, colorful sculptures, and spiritual energy set the tone for the days ahead. Next, visit the Parthasarathy Temple in Triplicane, dedicated to Lord Krishna, known for its continuous worship for over a thousand years. In the evening, stroll along Marina Beach, and enjoy a welcome dinner with traditional South Indian cuisine. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 2
Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram (The Golden Triangle of Temples)

After an early breakfast, drive to Kanchipuram (approx. 2 hrs), one of Hinduism's seven Moksha-puris (sacred cities of liberation). Begin your spiritual exploration with the Kailasanathar Temple, the oldest structure in Kanchipuram, built in the 7th century by the Pallavas. Then, visit Ekambareswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalas representing earth. Also, visit Kamakshi Amman Temple, where the divine feminine energy is worshipped in her most compassionate form. After lunch, proceed to Mahabalipuram (approx. 1.5 hrs), a coastal town filled with rock-cut wonders. Visit the UNESCO-listed Shore Temple, one of the oldest structural stone temples in South India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Explore the Pancha Rathas, monolithic temples carved out of single granite rocks, and admire the grand Arjuna's Penance relief. Overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.

Day 3
Mahabalipuram – Tiruvannamalai (The Fire Element Temple)

Depart early for Tiruvannamalai (approx. 4 hrs), nestled at the base of the sacred Arunachala Hill. This is one of the five Pancha Bhoota Sthalas, where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Agni (Fire). Upon arrival, check in and refresh before heading to the vast Arunachaleswarar Temple, one of the largest temple complexes in India. Walk through its towering gopurams and sacred halls, soaking in the ancient vibrations. If time permits, you may take a short walk along Girivalam Path, a 14-km circumambulation path around the Arunachala hill, considered spiritually purifying. In the evening, witness the powerful deepa aarti at the temple, where lamps are lit to honor the flame form of Lord Shiva. Overnight stay in Tiruvannamalai.

Day 4
Tiruvannamalai – Chidambaram – Kumbakonam (Dance of the Divine)

After breakfast, continue to Chidambaram (approx. 4 hrs), home to the iconic Nataraja Temple, where Lord Shiva is worshipped in his cosmic dancer form – a unique temple where science, spirituality, and art converge. Learn about the temple’s symbolic architecture, representing the human body and the universe. Then, drive to Kumbakonam (approx. 2 hrs), a spiritual city with over a hundred temples. En route, you may stop at Gangaikonda Cholapuram, a grand Chola-era Shiva temple. Upon arrival in Kumbakonam, visit the magnificent Airavatesvara Temple in Darasuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its intricate stone carvings and musical steps. Overnight stay in Kumbakonam.

Day 5
Kumbakonam – Tanjore – Rameswaram (Chola Marvel to Sacred Island)

Begin your day with darshan at Adi Kumbeswarar Temple, the presiding temple of Kumbakonam. Later, head to Tanjore (Thanjavur), the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu (approx. 1.5 hrs). Visit the majestic Brihadeeswarar Temple, another UNESCO site built by Raja Raja Chola I, and marvel at its towering vimana and monolithic Nandi. Explore the Tanjore Palace, showcasing Chola bronzes and paintings. Post lunch, begin your long journey to Rameswaram (approx. 6 hrs), crossing the iconic Pamban Bridge connecting the mainland to the sacred island. Check-in and rest for the night. Overnight stay in Rameswaram.

Day 6
Rameswaram (Gateway to Moksha)

Today is devoted to spiritual purification and darshan. Begin with a holy bath at Agni Theertham, followed by visiting the Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Participate in the 22 holy well bath rituals inside the temple, said to cleanse lifetimes of karma. Visit Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple, where a floating stone believed to be used in the Ram Setu is displayed. In the afternoon, take an optional excursion to Dhanushkodi, a ghost town at the confluence of the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean, believed to be the starting point of Lord Rama’s bridge to Lanka. Enjoy sunset by the sea and return to your hotel. Overnight stay in Rameswaram.

Day 7
Rameswaram – Madurai (Temple of the Divine Mother)

After breakfast, drive to Madurai (approx. 4 hrs), one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Upon arrival, visit the legendary Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Goddess Parvati. Explore its stunning gopurams, temple corridors, and shrines filled with mythological stories. Visit the Aayiram Kaal Mandapam (Hall of Thousand Pillars) and Porthamarai Kulam (sacred pond). Later, visit the Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal, a fusion of Indo-Saracenic architecture. In the evening, witness the Meenakshi-Sundareswarar marriage ceremony – a beautiful ritual held daily. Overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 8
Madurai – Trichy (Land of Vishnu and Rock Fort)

Depart after breakfast for Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) (approx. 2.5 hrs). On arrival, visit the magnificent Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam, the largest functioning temple in India, dedicated to Lord Vishnu in reclining form. The temple complex is a living city with seven concentric enclosures and 21 towers. After lunch, head to the Rockfort Temple, perched atop an ancient rock formation over 3.8 billion years old. Climb the 400+ steps for panoramic views and visit Ucchi Pillayar Temple and Thayumanaswamy Temple. Spend the evening at leisure exploring Trichy’s vibrant markets. Overnight stay in Trichy.

Day 9
Trichy – Chennai (Back to the Beginning)

After breakfast, drive back to Chennai (approx. 6 hours). En route, enjoy the passing countryside, rice fields, and village life of Tamil Nadu. Upon arrival in Chennai, check into your hotel. If time allows, enjoy last-minute shopping for temple souvenirs, silk sarees, or visit San Thome Basilica. Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 10
Departure from Chennai

After a leisurely breakfast, check out from the hotel. You’ll be transferred to Chennai Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. Depart with divine blessings, spiritual memories, and a deep connection to the sacred energy of South India.
