Colourful Rajasthan - as the name specify is a journey through one of the most popular state of India.Rajasthan - the land of the Rajputs is a fascinating desert land whose ruggedness hides many a touching tale of valour and sacrifice, is rife with colour and gaiety, art and pegeantry.The courage, chivalry, pride, honour, love and culture of its legendry heroes, women and princess are remembered in the mighty forts, magnificent palaces, exquisite temples and beautiful lakes and gardens make it a land of breathtaking variety.Cranvan - loads of camel riders make their way across the sands, exotic water - birds fill the scheduled sanctuaries.The women here wear bright and clolourful dresses with lots of silver jewellery.

This journey is through this beautiful state of Rajasthan travelling through Mandawa - a old Shekhawati village of Frescos, Bikaner -city of Forts and onward to the sand dune city of the Jaisalmer - which houses the second largest desert - the Thar and continuing to Jodhpur - which houses the largest private residence in the world - the Umaid Bhawan Palace. From here we drive to Kumbalgarh enrouting via Ranakpur famous for the temple complex.The next halt is the city of lakes - Udaipur and onward to the quiet little town of Pushkar - which houses the only Brahma Temple - the creator of the universe.From here to the Pink city - Jaipur and via Bharatpur - Fatehpur Sikri - the abandon city and one time capital of the Mughal Emperor Akbar to the city of Taj Mahal - Agra.

   

Day 01- Delhi
You arrive in Delhi by international flight. After a traditional Welcome of TIKKA and Arti our representatives would assist you at the airport and to hotel for check in and overnight stay.

Day 02- Delhi / Mandawa (280 km / 6 hrs)
Early morning drive to Mandawa, located South West of Delhi. Mandawa the heart of the Thar Desert which used to be a medieval Indian trade city and still has beautifully preserved houses of medieval Indian traders in typical Rajput style - wooden doors, bamboo thatched roofs, mud plastered walls and floors, ethnic decor etc. On arrival, we assist you to check in at Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03- Mandawa / Bikaner (160 km / 4 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Bikaner The drive is through sightseeing tour covering the Shekhawati region, rich in fresco painted dwellings. This region is often referred to as the "Open Air Gallery" of Rajasthan. Later leave for Bikaner and check in at hotel for overnight stay.

 

 

 

Day 04- Bikaner / Jaisalmer (325 km / 6 hrs)
Bikaner, located at a distance of 160 Kms from Mandawa, features in the tourist map because of the Junagarh Fort, which has palatial rooms richly decorated with emeralds and intricate carvings in gold. Later you leave for Jaisalmer. On arrival, you check in at our hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05- Jaisalmer
Set deep in the heart of Thar desert lies Jaisalmer, one of the last princely bastions of the region. Founded on the crossroads of lucrative trade routes, where the rich merchants hired craftsmen who worked with great diligence on the sandstone mansions they built, filing up facades with sculpture filigree, screen windows, delicate pavilions and balconies. Post breakfast half day sightseeing tour covering Jaisalmer Fort on the 80m high Trikula Hill built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 and Nathmalji - Ki- Haveli, Patwaon ki Haveli, three beautifully sculptured Jain temples built between the 12th and 13th Centuries; and five interconnected palaces known for its most elaborate and magnificent facade. Next on is a camel ride at Sam dunes, 45 km from the city. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06- Jaisalmer / Jodhpur (290 km / 6 hrs)
After Breakfast we start a scenic drive to Jodhpur, Jodhpur is called the "Blue City" for the characteristic plea indigo color of its traditional homes. The enormous UMAID BHAWAN PALACE was once the largest private residence in the world, have in 347 rooms and using over 2.5 million cubic feet of sandstone and marble. Jodhpur's former ruling family still lives in this opulent palace / museum/ hotel.
Upon arrival we help you check in at hotel. A leisurely evening follows highlighted by folk dances of Rajasthan. Overnight stay.

Day 07- Jodhpur
Post breakfast half day tour of Jodhpur There are many great fortresses throughout Rajasthan, but non compare with the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, built atop a 400 ft. promontory. Within this invisible citadel are magnificent palaces with marvelously carved panels, latticed windows and evocative names. These palaces houses a fabulous collection of possessions of Indian royalty, including a superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings of various schools, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. Below the fort, visit the Jaswant Thada, a graceful marble cenotaph built 1899 for Mahrajaha Jaswant Singh II, and monuments to other Maharajahs of Jodhpur.
Proceed into the heart of the bazaars for a view of local artisans at work as well as locals shopping of their wares. Overnight stay.

Day 08- Jodhpur / Ranakpur / Udaipur (325 km / 5 hrs)
Morning after breakfast leave for udaipur Vai Ranakpur to visit the secluded 1439 Jain Temple Complex with 29 halls dissected by 1444 pillars, each sculpted with unique designs. Lunch is suggested at the nearby Maharani Bagh Orchard retreat. Tour continues to Udaipur, which is another 80 km and a drive of roughly 2 hrs. Set around the vast Pichola Lake and dominated by dramatic palaces, Udaipur is Rajasthan's most picturesque city. Overnight stay.

Day 09- Udaipur
The "City of Lakes" Built along three lakes and ringed by green hills, Udaipur (pop, 366.000) is known as the 'Venice of the East' The City's palaces, gardens, ghats, temples and painted houses match the beauty of the setting. Morning tour of Udaipur's fascinating City Palace. Moulded in soft yellow stone, its windowless base is crowned with ornate turrets and canopies. Part of the Palace is now a museum with its marble and granite walls laden with brilliant miniature paintings and decorated with coloured glass and mirrors. The tour continues to the garden of the Maids of Honour and Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum. At sunset you can cruise around in a boat amidst the romantic waters of Lake Pichola. Overnight stay.

Day 10- Udaipur / Jaipur (375 km / 7 hrs)
After breakfast departure for Jaipur. Upon arrival we assist you to check in at hotel. Leisurely evening followed by overnight stay.

Day 11- Jaipur
The capital of Rajasthan is the most colourful city in India. Today morning we visit the Amber, the capital of the gallant Rajputs from 1037 to 1728 AD. A slow elephant ride takes us to the top of the fort and a tour of the Palace. Later visits to the City Palace, Birla Temple, Jantar Mantar Observatory and the Palace of Winds. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 12- Jaipur / Agra (260 km / 6 hrs)
After an early breakfast, you drive down to Agra. En route visit to Fatehpur Sikri (Ghost capital) for a tour of the magnificent and world heritage buildings still in a state of perfect preservation. We continue our journey for Agra and upon arrival check into Hotel. A leisurely evening is followed by overnight stay.

Day 13- Agra
Agra, was the erstwhile capital of India under the great Mughals in the 16th Centuries and home to Taj Mahal, has always fascinated the Indians as well as foreigners alike. Most of Agra is on the West bank of river Yamuna, with the Agra Fort and the Taj at its nucleus. Taj Mahal the mausoleum built by a sorrowing Shah Jehan in memory of his young wife, Mumtaz Mahal. is quite simply one of mankind's most remarkable creations. Early morning you enjoy the sight of the rising sun over the dome like structure of the magnificent Taj Mahal. Next on is a visit to Agra Fort. Evening at leisure followed by overnight stay at hotel.

Day 14- Agra / Delhi (220 km / 5 hrs)
Post breakfast departure for Delhi. Upon arrival transfer and check in at our hotel for overnight stay.

Day 15- Delhi
Breakfast at the Coffee shop. Rest of the morning at leisure. You will be taken on a guided tour of Delhi, beginning with a morning sightseeing trip to Old Delhi and followed by visits to the 1648 Red Fort, India's largest mosque - Jama Masjid, and Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat. Afternoon tour include visits to India Gate, President's House, Humayun's Tomb, and Qutb Minar. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 16- Departure from Delhi
After what will have been a majestic way to see and experience royal India, we bid farewell as we are transferred for onward travel.
